Job: SC19493FIELD NETWORK SYSTEMS TECHNICIANLocation: San Antonio, TXType: Contract (Possible contract-to-perm opportunity)Summary: JOB SUMMARY:Provides general to medium level desktop, server, network, and conferencing (hardware and software) technical support to Correctional Managed Care (CMC) locations in the San Antonio area.This is an onsite position. Maybe asked to work at multiple locations as needed within the San Antonio area. Must have strong customer service skills. Possible contract-to-perm opportunityWork Schedule: 8a-5pm, or variable day schedule as needed.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Provides reports on desktop, server, networking, and/or conferencing to upper level technicians and management as required.• Provides general assistance in analyzing, administering, and maintaining the performance of local and wide area networks.• Maintains all necessary desktop computer software applications and operating systems.• Assists staff in functionality of current software applications and hardware tools.• Supports and deploys system images via departmental standards.• Installs appropriate cabling as necessary for network, telephone, and video connections.• Works with a standard product such as a switch, router, server, desktop computer, laptop, printer, scanner, etc. based on requirements and instruction from management/supervisor/lead/senior and associated documentation.• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.MARGINAL OR PERIODIC JOB FUNCTIONS:• Performs related duties as required.REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:Associate's degree or equivalent in related field and one year of related experience.EQUIPMENT:• Desktop and laptop computers• Servers• Windows 10 and/or current UTMB operating systems• Remote desktop• VNC• Microsoft Active Directory• Group Policy Objects• Windows servers• T1 / Fiber Optics• Cisco routers• Ethernet switches• Wireless access points• Symantec Ghost• Software deployment• Terminal emulation software• Laser and desk jet printers• Scanners• Electronic time capture systemWORKING ENVIRONMENT/LOCATION OF POSITION:In State and possibly some Federal prisons, as well as other off-campus clinics, clients, and customers both local and remote.OTHER:Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render this position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215, Texas Education Code.State Security clearance is required, and Federal Security clearance may be required as well.Required to submit in the portal:
