Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Baccalaureate degree in a business related field or equivalent, relevant, and progressive work experience
Experience in configuring complex ERP application software
Knowledge and experience analyzing and developing business processes in one or more the following areas: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Funds Management, Grants Management, Budget, Position Budget Control, Controlling, Purchasing, Travel or other Finance related areas
Ability to develop functional requirements/specifications which may include requirements for integration or interfaces with 3rd parties
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems; generate documentation; determine customer's needs and deliver solutions in a timely manner
Ability to be a good fit with the existing SAP team, work effectively with the team, support the team, share knowledge and experience with the team
Ability to work independently and manage projects and priorities, as well as participate as an effective team member.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in SAP Finance and Public Sector software components
SAP experience in Higher Education or Public Sector
Experience with 3rd party integration and interfaces
Experience in leading project teams comprised of functional, technical, and third party staff
Knowledge of Texas State University policy, process and procedure
Knowledge of State of Texas policy, process and procedure
Knowledge of Federal regulations with regard to financial reporting
Experience with State of Texas reporting; examples USAS, SPA
Functional experience in a finance related operation
Ability to establish relationships and effectively communicate to promote consulting with University business units and external parties
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Job Description
As part of the Core Systems SAP team, this position participates in the full system life cycle and is responsible for configuration, design, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting complex SAP application software and associated products.
Job Duties
Configuration and maintenance of complex SAP application software and other 3rd party applications
Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve a variety of reported application software issues
Develop detailed business requirements/specifications and work closely with SAP developers to understand technical requirements
Conduct unit and integration testing; identify potential problems and recommend solutions or options
Perform business process consulting with University business units
Lead projects small and large through the complete life cycle
Must be prepared to on occasion work additional hours to complete projects or resolve critical issues that impact University operations as well as perform other duties as assigned
