Job Description:
As a manager, we are looking for someone to help grow and cultivate our business using his or her experience and knowledge. We are looking for a self-motivated leader who can communicate effectively and has a solid grasp of how to assist with building and cultivating a team. Understanding restaurant financials, COGS, scheduling, guest satisfaction, quality standards, and strategic planning are among the many skill sets we are looking for. This position is full time and requires open availability.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Mentoring current employees to have them reach their maximum potential through assessing where they are at and coaching them appropriately
Assist in identifying, interviewing, and selecting the necessary staff for our team
Assist in the development of our training program and continuing education of the staff
Assist in daily operational duties, which may include the following:
Placing necessary orders
Receiving orders
Weekly inventories
Vendor management and relationship building
Staff attraction & retention
Guest engagement
Problem resolution
Opening and closing procedures
Phone etiquette regarding guest relations and ordering
Cash handling and financial record preparation
Large party takeout and reservations
Standing or walking for 6 or more hours
Assisting with general accounting
Helping manage FOCUS (POS)
Ensuring that our staff serves alcohol responsibly
Managing staff certifications to make sure they are current on State and Local permitting and education
Product and menu development, to include introducing new food and beverage offerings
Managing staff adherence to company policies
Assisting with staff progressive discipline
Establish service and quality standards for the team and make sure the staff are meeting those standards
Monitor general cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant
Ensure we are in compliance with fire, health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations
Adhere to Pie Society cash handling and cash management policies
Properly check in deliveries to make sure everything invoiced is received
Organize promotional events or activities for the restaurant
Assist in performing weekly cost of goods analysis and monthly inventories
Tracking and managing labor costs.
Creating tools to drive sales
Tending to any maintenance issues
Skills and Experience
Proficiency in POS systems
Basic office computer skills such as Word, Excel, Outlook
Strong organizational skills
Effective communicator
Acute attention to detail
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Maintenance and handy man skills
College diploma preferred but not required.
21+ Years of age
Knowledge of human resource management practices
2+ years in restaurant management or at least 5 years in the service industry required.
