Austin Recovery provides compassionate and effective drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are seeking for a dedicated Residential Care Staff PT & FT for our organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Observes clients for signs and symptoms of disease, injury, reactions to medications, or other conditions that warrant medical intervention. Performs other related work as assigned.

Oversee medication needs and issues including coordination with Medical Team for pickup of medications as well as observation of client self-administered medication.

Conducts medication reviews with other Residential Care Staff on a regular basis to remain in compliance with observation of client self-administration of medication.

Able to administer CPR in emergency intervention and knowledge of use of the defibrillator and epi-pen and where they are located.

Has a full understanding of electronic charting and how to enter data on a daily basis.

Knowledge of basic computer skills critical to job duties related to this position.

Coordinates completion of Incident Reports and Client Surveys and data assimilation of same in support of the Quality Management team.

Conducts daily safety and compliance inspections of facility common areas and client quarters.

Presents prepared material as needed in the event of an unavailable presenter or the need to include an unscheduled activity.

Communicates client behavior/interaction with counseling staff/coordinators.

Attends Residential Care Staff meetings at least monthly for all scheduled meetings unless excused by the Team Leader.

Sets positive example for Residential Care Trainees.

Helps to create and maintain a safe, healthy, clean, and positive work/living environment.

Presents prepared material as requested by Supervisor including but not limited to Incident Reports and Behavior Observations.

Participates in staffing of clients with Clinical team when requested.

Attends community meetings of client programs weekly.

Qualifications

A Working knowledge of 12-Step Support Groups (A.A./N.A./C.A)

Interest and knowledge in Chemical Dependency.

Ability to model appropriate boundaries.

A valid Texas Drivers License and a clean driving record.

Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Must be Red Cross CPR/First Aid certified upon hire or within 90 days of hire.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or G.E.D Required

Associates Degree Preferred

1-2 years of experience in a residential treatment environment preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

Must be able to walk for extended periods of time

Must be able to climb stairs

Must be able to drive a van
