- learning customer requirements and specifications by reading factory work orders, print cards, and de
sign specifications;
- directing the activities of other machine crew members to efficiently set up and run orders;
- maintaining quality and production standards as required by the company;
- performing reporting functions; including entering data into plant and/or equipment computers, and
filling out quality certificates, checklists, and/or other required paperwork;
- setting and adjusting the prefeeder and feed sections of the machine;
- working with printing inks; including installing inks, checking and maintaining proper pH and viscosi
ty levels, verifying colors against standards, removing inks, and washing print stations;
- working with printing plates and pull straps; including obtaining and installing plates, removing and
asiding plates, washing plates during runs, and washing plates at the ends of runs and shifts;
- setting and adjusting the slotting, scoring, and/or die cutting sections of the machine;
- adjusting impression and register (both through and across machine) settings on all stations;
- setting and adjusting the folding section of the machine;
- setting and adjusting the glue application system;
- performing minor cutting die repairs;
- continually monitoring the quality and quantity of production;
- solving quality and production problems;
- informing the supervisor of safety items and maintenance needs;
- maintaining teamwork within the machine crew and with all other associates;
- following prescribed practices in all circumstances;
