Job Title: Network Engineer

Location : Southlake, TX, Basking Ridge, NJ, Denver, CO and Rocklin, CA

Network Engineer. The

Network Engineer is responsible to support the IP Edge Network Engineering team with responsibilities in the South Central and South East Markets. You will perform engineering responsibilities and work closely with the Planning, Design and Operations teams to implement our strategic technology goals and transition to the VZ eNSE (Evolved Network Service Edge) built upon the network fabric architecture. You will also work to support Verizon’s strategic technology goals including the ongoing migration of core elements to eNSE and the onboarding of VNFs (Virtual Network Function). · Interaction with design and architecture teams developing future networks. · Develop network configurations from design models and templates. · Work with cross-functional teams to ensure new networks are built, migrated, and decommissioned · Build networks for interconnection to Verizon Cloud Platforms for growth, capacity, and expansion. · Work with underlay and overlay controllers for network creation, network modeling, and network deployments. Leveraging plugins for network deployments across multiple virtualized OS environments. · Engineer network solutions and can work independently with a strong interaction with applications teams.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

Strong hands-on experience and knowledge on leaf-spine/ACI/VXLAN network fabric specifically with Cisco or Nokia platforms.
Hands-on experience configuring Cisco and Nokia (Alcatel Lucent) routers, switches and related network equipment. Preferably: Cisco CRS and Nexus. Nokia ALU 7750 SR1s/7s, and 7250 IXR. Operating Systems: NX-OS, SR-OS, IOS-XR.
Solid understanding of Networking specific technologies: VXLAN, EVPN, MP-BGP L2VPN (VPLS), L3VPN (VPRN), OSPF, ISIS, QOS/Traffic Engineering, MPLS (LDP & TDP), and Segment routing.

DESIRED SKILLS:· Minimum of 5 years experience in data networking and telecommunications, including expert knowledge and working hands-on knowledge preferably in the service provider or large enterprise network environment.· Any network programmability, cloud, virtualization, and scripting experience, examples: Openstack, Python, YAML, Jinja, Ansibles.· CCIE, JNCIE, Nokia SRA certification, or equivalent level.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:· Minimum with Bachelor's degree in a related field.· CCIE, JNCIE, Nokia SRA certification, or equivalent level.
