With our innovative designs our customers are able to process more fluids through systems with less residence time.Partner with the bestAs an Application Chemist, you will provide a vital service through applying the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. You will take ownership of research of development projects to develop new solutions to old Oil and Gas materials challenges. You will prototype and analyze the performance of potential technologies.As an Applications Chemist, you will be responsible for:- Conceptual or theoretical or practical activities related to the science of applying chemistry to industrial processes or for development of new technologies or products.
- Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent.
- Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues.
- Communicates with direct team and supervisor. Presents to internal teams on metrics, project status and research.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (with at least 3 years of experience in Engineering/Technology).
- Have the ability to develop new test methods for in-depth product characterization
- Work independently at times, as well as be a functioning part of a team to complete large projects
- Ability to travel up to 80% - domestically and internationally
- Prior work experience with production chemicals
- Show a solid understanding of structure-property relationships
- Be able to show excellent problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of project management
- Have excellent written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Be able to travel to visit customers or Baker Hughes locations
