We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Business Analyst in support of a great client located in Taylor, TX. This position is in preparation for multiple upcoming projects and will be a long-term contract with the opportunity for remote work. As a Sr. Business Analyst, you will serve as the conduit liaison between internal business units, vendors software application development teams, and testing teams. As a Sr. Business Analyst, your roles and responsibilities may include, but not be limited to the following:
- Gathering, interpreting, and documenting customer business needs that are translated into application requirements, operational requirements, use cases and test cases.
- Understanding and applying principles, theories, and concepts related to business analysis, as it applies to the client’s processes and culture.
- Engaging with project managers, executives, managers, software developers, test coordinators, training specialists, user experience specialists, and subject matter experts to elicit and clarify business, market, and project requirements
- Obtaining requirements using Interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, and scenarios
- Analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of existing business processes and developing sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements
- Defining and charting tasks and workflows in conjunction with project managers
- Assessing technologies to create developmental specifications as well as detailed use and test cases
- Facilitating the implementation of functional and non-functional requirements through the lifecycle of a project, as well as seeking approval of project documentation (e.g., PRD, RTM)
- Assisting in the design and review of test cases
- Reporting issues and obstacles which may impact project delivery or completion
- Providing input on business decisions, except in instances of unusually complex business scenarios
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience in internal business and/or technical analysis
- 2 years of experience in project managed role, with active project participation
- Demonstrated proficiency with technical writing
- Data Management experience
- Experience with various forms of documentation formats, and documentation tools (Word, Excel, JIRA, Visio, etc.)
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Process engineering (a plus)
- Experience with utility or energy projects (preferred)
- Experience using JIRA for requirements, use case, and story tracking
- IT and Infrastructure technology requirements experience, to include databases, networking, servers, software development, and data center refreshes
- CBAP Certified Business Analysis Professional
- CCBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis
- Bachelor's Degree in either Business Administration, Accounting, MIS, Computer Science or related field or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
