Our network of skilled associates provides plant and terminal operating expertise as well as field maintenance of rail assets for railroads, rail shippers, and owners of rail related equipment and facilities.Job Summary: Perform the essential functions required in moving, spotting, backing, and inspecting tractor trailers. We are currently hiring for both day and night shift. Day shift starts at 6:00am and night shift starts at 6:00pm with both are 12hr shifts with the exception of Wednesday which is 6 hours.Scheduled days will be 3.5 days/nights per week (Sun, Mon, Tue, 1/2 day Wed., or day Wed., then all day Thur, Friday and Sat.) The night schedule is opposite the day schedule.Responsibilities:
Jockey semi trailers throughout customer property
Keep track of trailers moved
Perform daily inspections on spotter trucks
Maintain a safe work environment
Other duties as required and assigned
Requirements: Must be able to display the skills necessary to operate a tractor and trailer;Comply with all industry, customer, and company safety regulations and operation procedures;Must be able operate the movement of equipment safely within the yard including safely backing up trailers to loading docks;Uncoupling and coupling of trailers;Perform inspection on all equipment, including but not limited to:Safety lights are working properlyProper coupling of tractors and trailersAir brake lines correctly connectedTractor and trailer inspected for flats and/or damageMust maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined at the company's sole discretion;Must be regularly available to work overtime, weekends and Holidays as the company determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs;Perform housekeeping duties as required by site management;Note: nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Work and Environmental Conditions:
Ability to constantly work in an outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions;
Must be able to work a flexible schedule; including weekends and being on call
Constantly required to use bending, twisting, walking motions on uneven surfaces throughout the entire work shift;
Must be able to work independently;
Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
Conditions of Employment: Employment is conditional, based on a medical examination which includes a drug screen, and an examination to verify candidates can safely perform the essential functions of the job. Road & Rail Services requires a post-offer motor vehicle reference check, and background check. Employment and military (if applicable) verification required.
