- Perform general technical trouble shooting and database activities including patching/database backups/refreshes/start and stop. Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support. Monitor software database license process. Supporting existing operations including various applications such as PeopleSoft, FMIS, Ariba, SOA, MicroStrategy and Oracle E-Business Suite (HRMS, Financials, Supply Chain and CRM). Perform evaluation of patching, custom issues, and performance tuning the system. Leverages Oracle and related tools to maximize efficiencies/automate processes (i.e Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control). Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products. Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products to provide process improvement recommendations. Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures. Create and manage Disaster recovery infrastructure for all critical database. Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures. Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
- Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
- Monitor, plan disk space growth and changes (capacity planning)
- Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support on monthly rotation for all production critical issues requiring DBA expertise.
