Assistant Director of Admissions - Cizik School of Nursing (TMC)Texas Medical Center-Houston, TexasProfessional/ManagerialJane and Robert Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealthRequisition #: 19000193Position Summary:Assistant Director of Admissions provides leadership in the development and implementation of admissions to attract and enroll a talented and diverse student population. The Assistant Director will oversee the admission process and be responsible for administering the admission policy set by the School.Position Key Accountabilities:

Supports creating and implementing a data-driven admission process plan. Engages the entire admissions staff in recruiting and enrolling students.

Counsels and advises prospective students, families, and organizations or institutions regarding educational opportunities at UTHealth, including admission procedures, student services, university policies, and entrance requirements.

Supports the management of data, including query development, enrollment management statistics, maintenance of the integrity of the data used for internal, local, state, and national reports, and regular statistical reporting.

Ensures the review of applications and admissions recommendations are consistent and aligned with admissions policies and procedures. Oversee, and participates in, the evaluation of applications and transcripts of students.

Manages aspects of the enrollment funnel, including converting applications to complete status and efficiently moving applicants from complete to decision.

Addresses and resolves applicant questions and/or issues and ensures positive candidate experiences.

Travels to represent the school at education or career events as needed. Manages all print and electronic communications that exist from the point of application through matriculation. Within GSBS, the Assistant Director plays an integral role in planning and executing recruitment activities.

Supervises the maintenance of records and files; ensures adherence to confidentiality and records management policies and procedures; coordinates with Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Registrar and other departments on matters related to attracting and retaining students.

Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and university admissions and recruiting practices.

Reviews and revises policies and procedures as needed to improve operations. Attends training, seminars, conferences, and other meetings as required.

Represents the office on internal and external committees.

Manages Human Resources activities of direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, database management, and student information systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in related area required.

Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in management, admissions, or related field.

May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

Additional Information:

Position Type: Full-Time / Salaried / Exempt Position

Starting Pay Range: $52,000 - $65,500/year based on years of paid experience

Location: School of Nursing and Student Community Center @ 6901Bertner Avenue
