Director, Clinical OperationsTexas Medical Center-Houston, TexasExecutiveMcGovern Medical School at UTHealthRequisition #: 1800026SPosition Summary:The Director of Clinical Operations will be responsible for managing the day-to-day, clinical business operations for the Department of Internal Medicine.The Director will have a pivotal role in advancing the department's strategic initiatives including but not limited to: human capital, business development and process improvements.Position Key Accountabilities :

Plans, implements and controls the operational, administrative and

business development goals for the department's clinical mission,along with the Department Chair and Director of Management Operations(DMO).

Develops and implements a process to evaluate each clinical specialty’s

current opportunity for growth, further alignment with partners and/orenhanced utilization of current resources.

Develops and fosters new clinical opportunities in greater Houston and

South/Southeast Texas as agreed upon by the Department, the PracticePlan and Senior Leadership.

Identifies key areas for improvement, growth and opportunity for each

clinical program and works across the organization to drive improvementin each area.

Responsible for leading and directing the practice related to the established

key indicators of quality, service and productivity in areas that createdistinguishable value for UTHealth and its patients, payers and partners.

Assists with the development and implementation of policy and procedures

to review our annual revenue and expense operating budgets. To promoteforecasting of each department's growth into the budget especially for newprograms and new faculty recruitments.

Ensures fiscal integrity by evaluating budgeted expenses and revenues

against actual expenditures by providing monthly updates and plans forvariations.

Streamlines business processes and manages infrastructure, facilities,

procurement activities, equipment purchases, and inventory within theclinical enterprise.

In conjunction with Department Chair and DMO prepares for the recruitment

of new programs and new faculty including all relevant revenue andexpenses.

Ensures compliance with UTHealth's organizational policies, procedures,

rules and regulations for the department.

Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of

internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations areeffective and efficient, assets are safeguarded; financial information isreliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and that ITinstitutional policies and procedures are followed as they relate to theDepartment’s clinical mission.

Models and promotes a team environment, quality care and customer

satisfaction.

Manages Human Resources activities of the site and/or clinical department

in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training,professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluationsand salary planning.

Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Public Health Care Administration

or related field.

Advanced degree, MHA or MBA, preferred
