Histology Technician III - FT - NeuromuscularTexas Medical Center-Houston, TexasAllied HealthMcGovern Medical School at UTHealthRequisition #: 19000348Position Summary:Provides supervision and assistance in the technical duties of the histology laboratory with strong emphasis on those techniques requiring specialized skills, and plays and important role in the instructions of residents and students.Department: NeurologyLocation: TMCType: Full Time/ Non-ExemptPosition Key Accountabilities:
Assists the Histology Supervisor in the management of all laboratory functions.
Provides technical guidance and advice to the Histology staff on procedures and troubleshooting. Adapts existing protocols to optimize results.
Maintains quality control and determines suitability of results/materials for release to requesting individuals.
Performs routine to advanced and specialized histology techniques.
Coordinates with support staff for non-clinical duties such as billing and purchasing.
Provides work direction and guidance to personnel within department. May lead projects and activities.
Other duties as assigned.
