Overseesall aspects of the Neurology Residency program activities. Sets deadlines,assigns responsibilities, and monitors project progress. Develops, implements,and manages policies and procedures,maintainsresidency program files in accordance with records retention schedules, assistsin requests for verification of residency training, and maintains calendar ofapplicant appointments and meetings.Ensures compliance with departmental policies andprocedures and also ensures compliance with all residency/fellowship programrequirements. This includes, but is not limited to submitting duty hour reportsto the GME Office, collecting and tracking evaluations of the residents,faculty and program, and ensuring compliance regarding any house staffmoonlighting or other professional activities outside the scope of the program.

Creates annual budget, negotiates service contracts, reports on progress and authorizes expenditures.

Informs upper management ofkey activities, such as residentinterview process including scheduling interview dates, corresponding withpotential applicants, confirming meetings and appointments and ensuringapplicant credentials are in compliance with current guidelines andprepares candidate ranking list, and makes periodic progress reports.

Works closely with internal departments regarding strategy and collaborative opportunities.

May assist in the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies.

Interacts with representatives from state, federal, and private agencies regarding proposals and funded projects.

Working in conjunction with Public Affairs, may create and edit various communications materials for the department/program, which may include printed materials, web site content and/or department newsletters.

Communicates with community and professionals to share objectives and outcomes. Prepares/makes oral presentations at professional meetings.

May manage Human Resources activities for direct report in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and terminating, training and development, performance evaluations, and salary planning.

Certification/Skills:

TrainingAdministrators of Graduate Medical Education(TAGME) Certification Preferred.

Excellentcomputer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Experienceswith databases and demonstrated ability to learn new software applications preferred.

Experience with residency management software. Experience withphysician scheduling software preferred.

Strongcommunication skills both written and verbal; excellent attention to detail, skilledmulti-tasking ability, demonstrated commitment to follow-through of assignedtasks and projects, and exceptional customer services skills.

Ability toutilize critical thinking skills andjudgment in problem-solving and decision-making, or escalating issues asneeded.

Good interpersonal skills and collegiality; ability towork independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.

MBA preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years of applicable experience. Advanced working knowledge of residency programs andexperience working in a GME setting strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
