This employee manages the activities of system administrators, technical specialists, and/or computer operators in support of data centers, multiple applications, and/or technical support areas of moderate to high complexity and scope. The ideal candidate will have many years of broad experience managing different teams.This position will manage a collection of groups seemingly unrelated to one another, so managerial experience and flexibility to adapt are crucial to the position. This person will assist in guiding our Infrastructure through many changes brought on by the emergence of cloud technologies and cloud-hosted enterprise applications.Below are the teams this person will manage and their respective functions.Management of the Data Center Operations team

Team scheduling, responsibilities and task they perform

Overall inventory (working with inventory team/resources)

All hardware being installed/removed

Working knowledge of basic Data Center technologies, network/power/hardware etc.

Knowledge of APC technologies a plus

Previous Data Center management a plus

Storage Team including backup infrastructure

Management of team and tasks

Planning future direction with storage

Storage technologies include enterprise class storage, solid state storage

Experience with Hitachi, XtremeIO, Netapp, vPlex technologies are a plus

Cloud storage solutions, AWS and/or Azure a plus

Management of the Cloud Orchestration Team

Management of team and tasks

Planning future direction with multiple cloud vendors to include Microsoft, Amazon, and Google

Knowledge of cloud implementation strategies, experience is a plus

Background and experience with emerging technologies a plus

Position Key Accountabilities:

Provides team leadership and coordination of projects, tasks, and initiatives ensuring accurate and timely resource allocation and project staffing.

Provides customer relationship management by defining customer needs and coordinating those needs with team plans.

Develops/reviews and implements plans, controls, procedures, etc. that ensure the stability of the production applications according to service levels agreed upon with customer.

Prepares/reviews and submits project plans and progress reports establishing policies and management controls to stay within the planned budget and timelines as well as project status.

Provides/reviews applications development work-plans, evaluation of multiple design alternatives and testing.

Provides/reviews systems design analysis, risk evaluation and project requirements clarification.

Introduces new technologies, solutions, and alternatives to support changing business and operational needs.

May be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Practice Plan’s IT infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime and stability.

May manage the day-to-day operations in the datacenter that includes all aspects of managing a 24 x7 operations center and staff.

May provide leadership and coordination of projects for infrastructure changes to the data center as well as approves designs submitted by Network Operations and IT Security for datacenter network changes.

Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluation, and salary planning. Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:Excellent technical and general communication skills, both oral and written, including specific skills such as presentation skills, leading/participating in group sessions, and the ability to communicate complex subjects. Certifications in relevant areas such as Microsoft, Novell, UNIX, hardware certifications, and associated technologies are preferred.
