SUMMARY:Performs the functions of keeping all EMS vehicles in good physical appearance and stocked with the medical supplies and equipment to be used in the day to day operations of the vehicle crew. Perform the functions of pulling supply orders for all the EMS stations, first responder fire departments, administration building and the business office.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the cleaning on a day to day basis of all ETMC-EMS vehicles both exterior and interior.

Responsible for the restocking of medical supplies and equipment for all EMS Units, and outlying stations.

Responsible for inventory adjustment and accounting through the use of a computer.

Responsible for maintaining cost effective inventory control.

Responsible for keeping all vehicles fueled and ready to respond when duty crew arrives for work.

Responsible for maintaining vehicle appearance.

Helps Resupply manager as necessary to maintain the resupply area.

Supports and adheres to policies and procedures.

Conforms to dress code and personal hygiene standards.

Responsible for restocking all inventory items in the supply room and drug supply room.

Maintain the supply rooms in a clean organized state.

Responsible for the rebuilding of the speedloading supplies that are used during the shift.

Responsible for checking and maintaining proper fluid levels on the ambulances. This includes oil, fuel, water, power steering fluid, etc.

Responsible for logging the stretcher hours, truck mileage, and truck hours on a weekly basis.

Responsible for shipping and receiving in supplies from the warehouse.

Responsible for retrieving backboards from local hospitals and the cleaning and disinfecting of them in order to place the board back in service.

Responsible for monthly inspections on ambulances to look for expired items and replace batteries on equipment.

Responsible for PM due dates on equipment. This includes the cardiac monitors, glucose meters, suction units, ventilator, etc.

Responsible for the preflight check on the ambulances at the start of the ambulance crew’s shift. This includes the end of their shift inspection as well.

Responsible for checking in the assigned equipment at the end of the crew shift. This would include the map bag and contents, radios, drug bag, and keys.

Responsible for the scheduling of the ambulance on a daily basis for regular shift, long distance transfers and maintenance.

Responsible for the delivery of supplies and equipment to outlying stations in a timely manner.

Responsible for maintain all paperwork. This includes sign out sheets, daily unit check sheet, inventory usage form, and equipment failure reports.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

Be accessible by telephone or pager 90% of the time.

Will have all units stocked and ready for service at specified times 95% of the time.

Work with computer 70% of the time for inventory control.

Keeps an up-to-date inventory for resupply 98% of the time.

Keeps up-to-date on required paper work for vehicle checks and supply room orders 99% of the time.

Maintain budget compliance 90% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position has very limited supervision and relies on the employee for initiative.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Communication Skills:Internal: Daily contact with levels of hospital personnel as well as administrative personnel and production employees.External: Daily contact with vendors and public.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
