The facility Administrator is responsible for directing the overall operation of the facility in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations. Additionally, the Administrator will direct and ensure the implementation of corporate initiatives that reflect the goals of the company. The Administrator is also responsible for driving the recruitment and selection process for key staff positions, and ensuring a productive work environment that drives resident and community satisfaction.

Position Requirements:

A current, unrestricted state nursing home administrator license is required in accordance with state regulations;

Bachelor's Degree in nursing home administration, geriatrics, or a related field;

Ability to pursue program of formal and informal continuing education in healthcare and related areas sufficient to maintain professional licensure;

Current knowledge of state and federal nursing facility guidelines;

Experience managing facility P & L statements and working within budgeted guidelines;

Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check;

Ability to qualify for facility fleet car insurance;

Functional literacy in English is required.

The Administrator is responsible for establishing a clear direction for the nursing home, to include the application and the implementation of established policies that secure resident services and business objectives.Essential Functions include:

Assures facility compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Develops, establishes, and maintains resident census at optimal levels.

Assures that physical assets of the facility are maintained in good condition, and that material and supply inventories are maintained at appropriate levels. Makes recommendations for improvement of and additions to nursing home buildings and equipment

Directs the recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, development, and discipline of qualified staff. Directs and coordinates activities of medical, nursing, and administrative staff and services.

Assures a safe and pleasant environment for residents and staff.

Establishes and maintains a favorable community/public relations position. Assures the implementation of therapeutic, recreational, and rehabilitative programs to meet social and activity needs of residents.

Assures that nutritional needs of residents are met.

Provides systems for continuing assessment of residents' health and well-being.

Functions independently with extensive latitude in the operation of the facility. Assumes responsibility/authority for decisions regarding all aspects of facility operations, but may consult with regional director, director of nursing, department heads, consultants, and other resources.

Supports quality processes that secure positive resident service; Understands and adheres to the guidelines of “Residents’ Rights”.

Is the liaison among the governing authority, the medical staff and the departments within the nursing home; prepares and forwards all reports required by management and licensing authorities.

Administers fiscal operations such as budget planning, business office functions, and operating within established budgets and facility business plans, meets or exceeds established A/R goals.

Represents nursing home at community meetings and promotes programs through various community events.

Position requires being accessible on a 24-hour basis at all times.
