Job Description
Machine Operators are responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, accurately and clearly completing all quality and production paperwork as required, inspecting raw materials for conformance to quality specifications and actively participating in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
The Essential Responsibilities Of This Position Are As Follows
Operate converting and packaging machinery to manufacture products at the highest quality and efficiency standards
Meet all safety, quality, and production goals
Load raw material rolls onto the machine using material handling equipment
Set up splices to ensure highest possible up-time and minimal disruption to the manufacturing process
Load glue melters with hot melt materials using proper personal protective equipment
Load and splice elastic threads
Clean mill house and SAP applicators daily
Remove raw material packaging and waste products to proper receptacle and maintain a neat and orderly work space
Examine completed work (in-process and finished goods) to detect product defects and verify conformance to specifications
Load and seal boxes as needed
Assist in daily preventative maintenance activities
Possess functional knowledge of the diaper manufacturing production process including raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the safe, efficient manufacturing of goods
Respond to machinery stoppages or raw material upsets and restore materials as quickly as possible to minimize production downtime
Assist in repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance
Follow and all safety rules and requirements to include proper lockout/tagout procedures, wearing of proper PPE, etc.
Work with fellow operators as a team to achieve safety, quality, and production goals
Meet or exceed quality standards and production schedule
Be willing to work overtime as needed with minimal notification
Job Qualifications
The requirements for this position are as follows:
High school diploma or GED
Trade school education, certification, or professional training highly desired
3+ years of related experience preferred
Must have basic computer, hand tool, mechanical, and measurement equipment knowledge
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds of weight throughout the workday
Must be able to work in a noisy environment with an elevated level of debris
Must be able to work in elevated places and tight, small spaces
Must be able and willing to learn new equipment
Must be able to read, write, speak in English
Must be able to interpret and execute company policies and procedures with minimal supervision
