JOB DESCRIPTION
Austin Boxer Rescue is seeking a kennel staff member to join our team at our Hewitt kennel location. As a kennel staff member, you will provide care for our animals. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be willing to work with other staff members and volunteers.
Key responsibilities include:
Cleaning kennels
Feeding dogs
Scooping poop from ISO, indoor, and outdoor kennels
Cleaning main building weekly
Caring for dogs (bathe, trim nails, etc)
Laundry
Acquiring and organizing donations
Dispensing medications
Evaluating dogs
Skills/qualifications:
Must enjoy working with animals, under no circumstances will abusive behavior towards any dog be tolerated. This includes yelling, intimidating, and/or striking a dog.
Able to lift large bags of dog food and boxes
Physically able to handle large animals (up to 100 lbs)
Must be punctual, reliable, and responsible - our dogs will be depending on you!
Pay is $8/hr and shift options are from 9-11 am and 4-6 pm.
