Description: Looking for someone ready for the next step in private groundskeeping. Applicants with, or seeking, turf management degrees or certifications are preferred as well as those with previous grounds experience. This position is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is eager to develop new skills while maintaining the highest quality private grounds. May require working long hours, nights and/or weekends that you determine. Will be solely responsible for a 20+ acre private residence. Long term opportunity with potential to stay on grounds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare, maintain and restore grounds as directed, including any and all activities or tasks fundamental residential grounds care.
Work with other grounds staff as needed and hired by you.
Monitor and resolve irrigation issues problems.
Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, sprayers and sod cutters
Ensure proper use of equipment and adhere to safety standards and precautions
Maintain, clean and repair tools, equipment and structures.
Expertly cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes based upon seasonal growth.
Apply pesticides to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitoes, wasps, ticks, etc.
Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice to keep people from falling.
Sweep walkway of debris.
Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.
Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
Install rock, cement, lighting, water, and outside furniture.
Technical Skills Experience: Mowers, tractors, snow blowers, chain saws, sod cutters, fertilizer spreaders, edgers, and soil pulverizers.
Qualifications:
Self-motivated and possess a desire to learn and grow as an individual and professional
Able to work independently and as a part of a team under stressful and fast paced, changing circumstances
Take pride in the quality of your work and work ethic
Able to lift, carry and transport up to 50lbs and stand and work for long periods of time, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality

Prompt, reliable, helpful, alert and observant
Self-motivated and possess a desire to learn
Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related experience.
Texas Irrigator license
Certified Arborist Preferred
Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Preferred
Valid Texas State Driver’s License required
