Position ProfilePosition SummaryThe Cost Analyst/Draftsman position functions as a business support person to the Product Development team and financial management team. The position assists in effectively managing and costing new products & projects. The position works closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as educate/inform department(s) on cost drivers and opportunities. The position also works on developing engineering drawings for all new product designs. This relates to both the initial 3-D renderings and development work in addition to the resulting component engineering drawings.Organizational RelationshipPosition reports directly to the Sr Manager R&D and supports our Woodcrafters division based in Weslaco TX.Duties and Responsibilities Product Engineering
Cost analysis from a component level all the way to a Finished Good assembly level.
Analyze actual labor material and overhead cost of new projects against Standard/Budget of similar existing items
Generate all Engineering drawings utilizing CAD/Solidworks in layout and part design.
Collaborate with sales & design to develop & cost 3D renders of new concepts & designs
Utilize design for manufacturability concepts in all duties
Review methods and procedures to constantly improve product construction and reduce costs
All other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
0-3 years in a Cost Accounting position/Engineering in a manufacturing environment
Strong CAD-Solidworks experience
Industrial/Mechanical Engineering degree required
Strong Project Management Skills
Hands on multitask results driven
Physical Demands:
Occasional walking standing reaching pushing gripping and handling
Occasional lifting and/or carrying of over 30lbs floor to chest
Occasional lifting pushing and or pulling over 50lbs
Operation of hand and power tools for R&D purposes
Temporary relocation
After hours availability
15 - 20% travel

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers etc. but it’s not limited to such.
Work inside/outside in a non-climate controlled conditions.
Work around moving objects.
Exposure to hot/cold temperatures based on outside conditions.
