Do you want to be part of a Data Warehouse team managing over 120 terabytes of data and building the next generation analytics platform for a leading financial firm with over $2.5 trillion in assets under management? At Schwab, the Global Data Technology (GDT) organization governs the strategy and implementation of the enterprise data warehouse and emerging data platforms. We help Marketing, Finance and executive leadership make fact-based decisions by integrating and analyzing data. We are looking for an ETL Developer who has passion for data integration technologies and comes with data warehousing background. Someone who has experience in designing and coding batch as well as real time ETL and one who wants to be part of a team that is actively designing and implementing the big data lake and analytical architecture on Hadoop. You will be an ETL Developer working with a large team that includes onshore and offshore developers and analysts using best-in-class technologies including Teradata, Informatica and Hadoop. You'll be responsible for the design, development and implementation of enterprise data integration solutions. You'll have the opportunity to grow in responsibility, work on exciting and challenging projects, train on emerging technologies and work with other Developers to set the future of the Data Warehouse.

What you are good at

  • Creating/updating ETL specifications and supporting documentation
  • Developing ETL logic utilizing Talend/Informatica workflows, scripting and load utilities
  • Designing schemas, data models and data architecture for Teradata and Big Query environments
  • Building and maintaining code using Talend, Informatica, IICS etc
  • Implementing data flow scripts using Unix /Sqoop / Hive QL / Pig scripting
  • Designing, building and support data processing pipelines to transform data
  • Analyzing, Designing, building data assets
  • Developing and executing quality assurance and test scripts
  • Work with POs and business analysts to understand business requirements, use cases and work on analysis/design
  • Guide the ETL delivery team with technical expertise; Responsible for review of design documents from other BSAs and ETL delivery from 3rd party vendor team
  • Working with Technical directors, Data Modelers and DBAs to ensure a proper and efficient implementation of requirements
  • Building deep understanding of the warehouse data and capabilities

What you have

  • 2-3 years' experience as an ETL Developer and analyst with a track record of delivering code with minimal defects
  • 2-3 years' hands-on experience with Talend/Informatica/IICS integration tool and other ETL tools
  • 2-3 years' experience using Informatica including add-on tools and connectors
  • 2-3 years' substantial experience in Data Warehousing / Information Management
  • 2-3 years' experience in data modeling (logical and/or physical) with familiarity of Teradata/Big Query platform preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, SPARK, Kafka and HBASE
  • Understanding of best practices for building Data Lake and analytical architecture on Hadoop is required
  • Strong SQL experience with the ability to develop, tune and debug complex SQL applications is required
  • Experience with change data capture tool (CDC) preferred
  • Experience with scheduling tools (eg. Control M, ESP)
  • Expertise in schema design, developing data models and proven ability to work with complex data is required
  • Experience in real time data ingestion into Hadoop is required
  • Proven experience in working in large environments such as RDBMS, EDW, NoSQL, etc. is preferred
  • Prior experience interfacing with various partners, including vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project, Excel, MS Word and Visio Drawing tool along with general familiarity with Outlook and other MS Office applications is also required
