Job Title: Technical Business Analyst

Duration: 6 Months

Our Opportunity:Do you want to be part of an enterprise data solutions team managing over 150+ terabytes of data and building the next-generation analytics platform for a leading financial firm with over $3.2 trillion in assets under management? At our company the Data & Rep Technology (DaRT) organization owns the strategy, implementation, delivery, and support of the enterprise data warehouse and emerging data platforms. As a Business System Analyst, you will work in our company Data Integration project. You will closely with business partners to understand the data and business challenges with data integration and propose new functionality into the enterprise data warehouse. You will analyze data using SQL, identify and propose alternative questions, and design a data model and/or application data flow to deliver the business capability. You will be required to quickly learn our company’s business model, business vision, and the associated analytical/reporting requirements. A successful candidate will be curious about the business and the data that enables it. A successful candidate will also be passionate about partnering with our business teams and exploring data to find the best solutions.

What you’ll do:
  • Act as a Business Systems Analyst in company’s Data Integration & Account Conversion project team
  • Analyze the impacts of data integration on Data Warehouse and Big Data environment
  • Analyze and coordinate regression testing requirements across all lines of businesses
  • Analyze the performance impacts of moving Data Warehouse to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Coordinate with source systems and downstream system teams to assess the impacts and implement a remediation plan
  • Coordinate with infrastructure teams, DBA’s, and admins to evaluate the performance impact on ETL jobs, SLA’s on data availability, and plan on remediation
  • Analyze source system data, profiling data (using SQL and Hive QL), and arranging service level agreements with data providers
  • Design conceptual and logical data models (using ERwin), create metadata definitions and create the source-to-target mapping.
  • Act as requirements coordinator for 1-2 medium to large projects, capture usage requirements, and design the semantic/information layer.
  • Prepare and manage the project plans and recommending solutions.
  • Partner with business users and acting as a liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Coordinate data model reviews and handoff to the ETL development team.
  • Build a deep understanding of the warehouse data and capabilities.

Additional Job Details:

What you have:
  • At least 10 years of experience as a technical business analyst with a track record of delivering well-documented data requirements
  • Substantial experience in Data Warehousing / Information Management, preferably using Teradata database platform, Big Data and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Must have at least 1-year of recent experience using Google Cloud Big Query.
  • Experience in working on large scale data integration and Cloud Migration projects
  • Expert-level SQL skills
  • Experience in data modeling (logical and/or physical) with a solid understanding of 3NF, Star Schemas, and performance concerns
  • Experience using Erwin
  • Familiarity with Informatica and Hive preferred.
  • Experience /knowledge of Project Management with the ability to drive projects to successful completion
  • Experience in Agile development methodology
  • Prior experience interfacing with various partners, including vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Project, Excel, MS Word, Visio Drawing tools, and general familiarity with Outlook and other MS Office applications is also required.
