This position is for a Senior Software Application Engineer responsible for implementing unique solutions that support our business within a highly distributed .NET application infrastructure with a focus on micro frontend/services architecture. The Sales and Service Technology is a forward leaning development organization that leverages Agile development methodologies. The position will be responsible for design, implementation, testing, and support of assigned applications and application components within the Sales and Service Technology portfolio. This position will interact with business stakeholders and technology counterparts across many areas within Schwab.

What you are good at

Work with agile team members. Provide creative/innovative solutions in a highly dynamic environment. Implement software to meet functional requirements as well as robust, fault tolerant, and with 24x7x365 availability. Provide expertise in web based, distributed, and cloud based computing application development.

What you have

The candidate MUST have demonstrated capabilities with object oriented design, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead other team members and interact with business partners to successfully interpret requirements and create effective solutions.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelors' degree in Computer Engineering OR related degree and/or practical experience
  • Expertise in the following: Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, WCF, Web API, (ASP.NET), .NET Core Framework, Web Services, JSON, SOAP, REST, HTML5, AngularJs
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Development using Object Oriented Programming using C, C#, Java
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing source control and CI/CD automated build processing especially Atlassian products (i.e. Bitbucket and Bamboo)
  • 2+ years of experience in building REST services ASP.NET Web API
  • Strong knowledge of web architecture/design and web best practices
  • Demonstrated strong ability to interpret requirements and design solutions to fit those requirements
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact successfully with business partners and technology teams
Desired Skills:
  • Good understanding of latest Architecture and Development Standards and Guidelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design patterns and when to apply them
  • Experience providing guidance, direction, and feedback to other technical staff in order to meet agreed upon objectives.
  • Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various level of technical and non-technical
  • Experience with branching/merging using code repositories (e.g. Bitbucket)
  • Working knowledge or familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with financial industry
