Financial Planning is a part of the Personalized Investing group within Schwab Technology organization. Our team delivers and supports Financial Planning applications and products used by Schwab Representatives and our Clients as they plan for their financial futures. Financial Planning Utility is looking for a Senior Software Engineer having substantial hands-on experience in Software Automation. The individual should be extremely conversant with automation testing, having advanced knowledge working in a C#, .NET environment while being open to working in evolving Next Gen technologies. You will be working with modern platforms and technologies (e.g., Pivotal Cloud Foundry, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, REST calls etc.) and modern processes. This position provides opportunities to work innovatively and collaboratively with business and technology partners to execute to Schwab's vision to be the most trusted leader in investment services.

What you are good at

The Software Developer IV will be part of a Financial Planning Utility (FPU) scrum team responsible for building enterprise applications supporting the Financial Planning initiative. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully building and supporting enterprise web applications and services. The individual will also communicate effectively with business partners to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions.

We're looking for technology professionals who are enthusiastic about digital financial products, innovation and motivated in building exceptional software solutions. The candidate should be comfortable seeking out and evangelizing new and emerging technologies - including open source tools. The role will require a high level of responsibility yet has a support structure necessary for development growth.

What you have

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Master of Computer Science
  • 7+ years demonstrated real world experience in enterprise web application development
  • 7+ years demonstrated real world experience in object oriented languages such as C# (.NET or Core) or Java
  • 7+ years demonstrated real world experience in software engineering principles, practices, and software design patterns
  • 7+ years demonstrated real world experience in database principles, such as SQL, Oracle, or MongoDB
  • Experience with JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue would be a plus.
  • Deep Experience in RESTful service design and implementation
  • Experience producing technical design documentation and reviewing with architects
  • Experience using PaaS solutions and concepts
  • Experience in an Agile work environment
  • Experience leveraging Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and DevOps principles
  • Expertise in the software development lifecycle with proven examples of process improvement
  • Demonstrated yearning to leverage technology to build products that "wow" users
  • Strong ability to partner with product managers, engineers, and architects across the organization through collaborative problem solving
