The selected candidate will report to the Global Autonomous and Tactical Solutions (GATS) Operating Unit (OU) Mission Assurance Manager and will have dotted line reporting responsibilities to independent site leads and Program Managers. The GATS OU has programs located across the United States and internationally. This position may be located with the site management in Clearfield, UT, Bethpage, NY or Sierra Vista, AZ and must be able to work on-site.Your Responsibilities will include:
The Quality & Mission Assurance Manager will monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure the mission success of programs. QMA works with the various teams to promote continuous quality assurance, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual and governing requirements. In doing so, we help determine resources and activities to ensure compliance.
In this role, you will be serving as the site Quality and Mission Assurance Manager, who is responsible for all Quality related activities in Production, Sustainment, Development, and Supplier Quality activities. This leader will serve in a key leadership role providing oversight of the Quality Management System across a limited set of sustainment and procurement programs at multiple locations.
The successful candidate must possess a complete and thorough understanding of Program Management and Mission Assurance as well as demonstrated leadership, managerial, and communication skills across all levels of the company.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability to establish and nurture an excellent working relationship with customers, both internal and external, and be able to understand quickly and sufficiently the technical domain encompassed by the OU.
The successful candidate will be functionally responsible for providing and managing QMA support for existing and future programs and task orders. These responsibilities include implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the established QMS according to the requirements of the Quality Standard and Division, Sector and Corporate quality policies, processes and procedures ensuring the total integration of quality requirements throughout all phases of design, planning, procurement, test, delivery and post-delivery support.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance to the site MA team and will be the focal point to site for all QMS activities including Program Assurance, Quality Assurance, System Assurance and Supplier Quality. We are looking for a leader who will foster a collaborative environment and sustained results.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years in related professional and/or military experience in Program management or Quality and Mission Assurance, that includes a background in the aircraft, aerospace, and/or manufacturing industries and within management or team lead roles. Will also consider: Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience; or Master’s degree and 4 of experience
Must have at least 2 years’ experience in root cause and corrective action processes.
Understanding and experience with Lean-Agile methodologies.
Understanding and experience with Continuous Improvement concepts, processes, and tools.
Experience with various methods of root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Why, Ishikawa, Current Reality tree, etc.)
Strong working knowledge and experience with ISO9001, AS9100, AS9102 and DCMA8210 implementation and auditing.
Understanding the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and how they relate to QMA activities.
Business acumen in the context of the impact of quality or lack of quality on Profit & Loss, Cost and Schedule.
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient with the MS Office Professional suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science (MS) in program management or mission assurance related field
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or American Society of Quality Certification
Salary Range: $99,400 - $172,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
