Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:This is a newly created opportunity to contribute to the development and support of key compliance programs, compliance management system enhancements and other enterprise-wide regulatory projects. This role will collaborate with business leaders to help drive compliance risk mitigation strategy and solve complex problems in areas such as New Product Introduction, Client Oversight, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption, and Surveillance and Detective Monitoring Controls. This high exposure role will assist in the oversight of the execution of various cross-functional projects while providing an opportunity to learn related laws and regulations.Essential Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, enhance compliance risk mitigation programs responsive to new and evolving regulatory guidance

Manage large cross-functional projects, ensuring an attention to detail

Develop/enhance policies and procedures to identify, manage and mitigate compliance risks

Collaborate with business partners across the organization to ensure compliance requirements related to project are met

Lead functional work streams related to compliance oversight

Support Internal Audit and Exam requests, as required, including fulfillment of reporting requests

Keep pace with the latest developments in the regulatory environment and the financial services industry to provide expert guidance to the Synchrony Financial Compliance Team.

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in finance, business or related field; or in lieu of a degree 14+ years in finance, business or related field

8+ years in audit, controls, risk and/or compliance

2+ years in leading projects

Desired Characteristics:

Experience building robust frameworks responsive to new, evolving regulatory guidance;

Experience influencing and working across matrixed organization;

Detail-oriented and results-driven with strong problem-solving skills;

Ability to prioritize and manage project progress to meet project timelines;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Knowledge of regulatory requirements or guidance;

Financial Services Industry experience;

Certified Regulatory Compliance Management Certification; and

Team player in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 85,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD AnnualSalaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.Grade/Level: 12Job Family Group:Regulatory and Compliance
