Job Description

We are seeking an HR Generalist to support our People Leadership & Cultureinitiatives and functions that align with business needs and objectives. The responsibilities of the HR Generalist will include:

  • TALENT SUPPORT:Work closely with Talent Development to support education and training programs and policies and their outcomes. Utilize analysis and operational prioritization to support people managers and individuals in achieving desired performance.
  • EMPLOYEE GUIDANCE:Communicate with managers and employees on HR-related questions. Provide HR policy guidance. PartnerwithHR leaders and the legal and financial teams as needed to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance concerning employment actions.
  • WORKFORCE PLANNING SUPPORT:Maintain and improve HR programs in support of Verisk’s workforce. Maintain the workforce plan and collaborate with Finance to track hiring.
  • BUSINESS AWARENESS:Understand business goals, customers’ needs and business strategies to support objectives, productivity, and implementation of HR best practices and policies.
  • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT:Meet with employees and managers to develop performance improvement plans. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective analysis and guidance of performance-related issues, and partner with colleagues to improve them. Track progress of employee completion and report to HR leader; take next steps under the guidance of HR and BU leadership. Partner with People Relations Center of Excellence (CoE) as needed. Prepare for and conduct exit interviews with the appropriate manager(s).
  • PEOPLE OPERATIONS SUPPORT:Provide operational support, liaising with CoEs for HR systems, training, recruitment, engagement surveys and operations that enable workforce planning and management; process employee changes per business approval. Perform data entry and analysis to support the development of solutions, programs, and policies from a data-driven perspective. Complete audit and compliance responsibilities and internal reporting as needed. Aid with tactical requests for projects and initiatives as requested by the business unit or Corporate team.
  • CULTURE CULTIVATION:Partner with HR leaders to implement specific steps and actions to promote positive employee engagement and experience. Successfully complete projects and initiatives to build trust and deliver results. Build culture through implementing programs, defining values, developing people, and creating an inclusive and diverse workforce where people feel welcome, engaged, and connected in persistent service of our customers.
  • PROJECTS:Participate in and contribute to special projects as required, both for the BU and Claims organization.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience supporting HR business needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Support of talent management processes such as performance management and employee development. Exposure to talent analytics is helpful.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment law and experience with employee relations.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with leaders and stakeholders to support organizational change and people-related practices.
  • Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage various demands and prioritize workloads while managingmultiple responsibilities and special projects against deadlines.
  • HR experience within Technology or Data Analytics is helpful.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
