ENGINEERING MANAGER

Works in coordination with multiple departments to support continuous field operations through the engineering process.

Participates in scheduling meetings and commits necessary resources to meeting deadlines.

Mentors, trains, corrects, progresses, guides and oversees team and forecasts hiring needs.

Meets committed deadlines with customers (architects, PM's, shop, field, etc).

Evaluates team, programs, subscriptions, tools, etc to make recommendations on how to improve processes and improve productivity and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Able to read and interpret construction documents, plans, specs, drawings, submittals, orders, etc.
Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, ReCap, Inventor, scanner tools and other software that supports engineering operations. Ability to train others in these programs.
Able to read and interpret plans, specs, measurements, drawings, technical procedures, government regulations and write reports, correspondence and procedures. Able to effectively present information to top management.
Ability to meet manage team to meet deadlines and keep shop supplied with fabrication needs. Work well under pressure. Able to communicate effectively cross-departmentally and with customers.
Able to work in office during core hours. This position is not eligible for remote work

PREFERRED SKILLS

Minimum 2 years as manager of department team

Minimum 5 years architectural drafting

Basic critical thinking skills

Well organized, good follow-through, detail oriented

Strong documentation, communication and writing skills

Math skills (geometry, trigonometry, plane)

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Construction Terminology

Able to read, analyze and interpret periodicals, business journals, specs, plans

Able to professionally address coworkers.

Able to present information to top management.
