QA Software Engineer in the Collaboration Quality Engineering Department.

About the role:

This position will reside as a QA Engineer in the Collaboration Quality Engineering Department. This is a great opportunity for the individual to get involved with configuring systems, integration of internal cross product systems as well as some third party integrations, including systems Access Management, mobile application (iOS and Android), cloud deployment, archiving, database, and device management. The primary responsibility will be developing product tests and test automation infrastructure. This will involve configuration of both software and hardware in reliability, scale and performance labs and in cloud and contained based execution scenarios. An understanding of both Linux and Windows Administration as well experience with Virtualization is desired. The use of automation tools and the ability to use Java, Python, or JavaScript will be important. Micro Focus embraces an agile development environment.

You will be involved with configuring, maintaining & scaling end to end systems, integration of internal cross product systems as well as some third party integrations, including systems Access Management, mobile application (iOS and Android), cloud deployment, archiving, database, and device management. Develop product tests and test automation infrastructure. Knowledge of automation tools and the ability to use Java, Python, or JavaScript will be important.

In this role you will install servers, PC clients, and mobile (iOS/Android) clients. You will execute manual test cases, develop and automate product tests, set up lab configurations, write and log problem reports. You should also be able to set up various network configurations and work with cloud and container based deployments. You must be capable of evaluating the quality of an individual product component, be an effective communicator and a problem-solver, and work under a low level of supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
  • 2-4 years experience in Software Development or QA
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows administration
  • Basic knowledge of iOS and Android for QA evaluation
  • PC architecture knowledge and troubleshooting experience
  • Programming skills in Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • Familiarity with test automation and automation tools
