Job Description
Linux Administrator Job Description:- In your role as a Linux Administrator, you will be Tier 1 / Tier 2 support of the Business systems in a 24x7 follow the sun model.
- This will entail alert management, OS troubleshooting, and working to restore service in a robust Enterprise Environment.
- Monitoring of Linux/Unix systems
- The Linux Administrator will be troubleshooting of systems
- Alert management
- Incident Management
- Working with clients across our Business Units to maintain and restore service
- Automation of activities through scripting and configuration management
- The Linux Administrator will be working with Hardware teams to maintain the physical server estate
- Documentation of processes and procedures for the team
- For the position, they will be onsite in SLC, UT
- Can this role be remote/hybrid? - Hybrid at least 50% in office to start.
- 3-6 years of Unix/Linux systems administration experience
- Strong core OS troubleshooting experience
- Bachelor's Degree (U.S. or equivalent) in a Science or Engineering program or equivalent experience
- Experience in Red Hat Linux Administration
- Scripting experience in Shell, Bash, Perl and /or Python
- Virtualization experience in VMware
- Networking knowledge/skills
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining enterprise-grade server hardware such as Client and Dell rackmount servers
- Experience using remote management interfaces like Dell iDRAC, Client iLO, VMware vCenter/vSphere
- An automation-first mindset
- Incident management experience
- Prior experience in the Financial Service Industry is a plus
- Prior Enterprise experience is a plus
- Relevant certifications are a strong plus
