The Information Technology (IT) specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of IT including help-desk support, network and system administration. Other responsibilities will include working on initiatives and projects to help grow the organization's technology infrastructure and assist the IT director in meeting the organization's IT needs.Responsibilities- Respond to IT support requests submitted by employees via emails, phone calls and in-person visits
- Support end-users with IT-related problems in a responsive and service-oriented manner
- Set up, manage and maintain IT-related equipment
- Document processes, procedures and results
- Monitor backup jobs and ensure high level of completion success rate
- Perform regular audits against IT systems to ensure compliance with information security policies
- Assist in collecting audit logs and forensic information related to information security requirements
- Help put processes in place to maintain a stable and secure IT infrastructure environment
- Train staff with IT related equipment
- Assist the IT director with project work to grow the technology infrastructure of the organization
- Assist with the troubleshooting, installation and implementation of systems
- Ensure data integrity regarding our fixed asset inventories
- Develop and monitor performance levels of software and hardware
- Evaluate, recommend and propose alternative methods of information processing
- Maintain hardware and software maintenance agreements to ensure integrity of operations processes
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field preferred, plus a minimum 2 years' experience in IT or Business Systems or combination of education, experience, & superior performance.
- Understand information security and safety policies and actively promote related practices in the workplace
- Demonstrated working knowledge of hardware and networking basics
- Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot and support Windows clients and servers
- Scripting experience (HTML, PHP, Shell, Bash, Python, etc.)
- Experience with Cisco Meraki networking hardware and administration
- Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Active Directory
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com
