The Data Warehouse team gathers and enables data throughout the organization in order to provide insights into all aspects of CHG's business. This allows our Sales and other business partners to make better informed decisions. As a Business Intelligence Engineer on the Data Warehouse team you will build ETL packages and Tableau extracts to enable others to build dashboards and reports. This role will report to Data Warehouse manager. Your role:- Implement the Business Intelligence Strategy defined by the company
- Analyze, design, develop, and deploy ETL solutions using Microsoft BI Suite
- Develop, package, and deliver new service offerings related to Business Intelligence
- Work with management, data warehouse architect, report developers, project managers, and product managers to understand and prioritize data and information requirements and deliver in an agile environment
- Participate in testing methodology and criteria
- Willing to work alone as well as in a team, helping team members achieve project goals (Swarm/mob/pair program)
- Demonstrate ability to help and mentor others as well as be open to mentoring from senior level peers, internalize feedback, change personal processes and behavior to conform to team objectives
- Maintain existing and develop new ETL packages, Tableau Extracts, and other BIDW development requests, with considerations for processing performance
- Ensure quality data output for each development task through appropriate Self-QA that follows the testing standards of the BIDW team
- Solid understanding of logical and physical models, including Kimball methodology
- 1-3 year(s) experience with data analysis and building Business Intelligence solutions
- 1-3 year(s) experience with ETL and BI tools; (Microsoft SSIS preferred)
- 1-3 years SQL experience writing medium to complex queries
- Demonstrated experience with reporting-database integration and a range of database platforms including DB2, MYSQL, and MS-SQL
- Demonstrated experience with software design practices, relational databases, and data-driven reporting applications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field
- 1-3 year(s) experience developing Tableau extracts & dashboards
- 1-3 year(s) experience with cloud data warehousing methodologies (AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
- Experience with the Kimball Methodology
- Experience with Python, VB, or C# scripting
