Job Title: Core Logging SpecialistLocation:Copperton, UTDuration: Contract, 6 monthsPay range: $18-$28/hr DOEJob Responsibilities:Position is responsible for collecting geological and geotechnical data by logging core and chips collected from drilling operations and updating the applicable geologic models.This position is also responsible for updating models to represent down-hole surveying andboreholegeophysical studies.This work is critical and its future expansions in terms of resource knowledge through the optimization of geologic and geotechnical models.The data collected serves as the baseline for both current and future mine expansionsTake an active role in the safety culture. Logging core and chips 60% Advance the geologic knowledge of the resource through logging core and chips collected from drilling operations on a routine basis in a team based work environment.Collate, interpret and transfer digital geologic data for use in Mine Technical Services planning. Modeling and reporting 40% Modify the mine geology model from core logging on a regular basisCommunicate applicable geologic information to Mine Planning and Geotechnical engineersAssist in yearly geologic map updatesContribute to special projects; e.g., NARD, rock crusher, sampling, drilling supervision, generation of geologic cross sections, etc.Develop and maintain appropriate project documentationInteract with personnel and external consultants for interpretation of geology and geologic informationEducation:Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field.Candidates should have 1-3 years of basic geologic work experience including mapping, preferably in a porphyry copper mining application.MSHA certification preferredWill take entry level candidates willing to learnBe a part of the ConsultNet difference.
