- Independently design and develop secure, high-performance databases to support our company's operations
- Use your expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose database performance problems quickly and effectively
- Ensure our databases are maintained optimally, including regular backups, security patches, and software updates
- Provide data architecture and data administration support to ensure compliance with major browsers and website designs
- Support programming staff with query optimization, data storage and retention techniques, and general SQL programming practices
- Proactively identify and mitigate problem areas and develop prototypes and proofs of concept for end users
- Collaborate with developers and users to define database requirements and provide guidance to less experienced staff
- Participate in code reviews and perform testing of databases
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to efficiently multitask technical problems and communicate technical concepts effectively to both users and programmers
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to concentrate for long periods of time
- Frequent computer and telephone use and sitting for long periods of time
- Occasional travel of less than 25% may be required.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration
- Strong experience with MS SQL Server databases, server-side development, web services, WCF, API, Salesforce/Financial Force integrations and development, SQL, C#, and JavaScript
- Strong analytical abilities and customer service attitude
- Proficiency with versioning tools, such as SVN or GIT
