Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project: We are looking for a passionate network operations engineer to join our team of engineers to manage our ITSS Corporate network that spans across our global infrastructure.Candidate should be a self-starter, love the challenge of solving problems, building solutions to help the company scale. The Person uses leading edge hardware, software defined networking, cloud networks, and traditional networking to work on a variety of challenging and innovative projects. The person in this position is required to work in a team environment, under limited supervision and reports to the Network Operations LeadEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor real-time dashboards and alert activity through the Network monitoring Consoles and systems.
  • Be the front line to Network Operations technical support staff members by coordinating and managing incidents, calls and tickets.
  • Perform notification and escalation of the incident as documented in use case-specific procedures by established guidelines and standards
  • Track incidents where applicable to verify that response times and availability requirements established in the SLA are met
  • Assist with documenting and updating departmental procedures and work instructions
  • Must be professional, personable, and courteous at all times
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve service to the customer
  • Mentor team members by providing necessary assistance, guidance, and training
  • Participate in special projects as needed and defined, meeting all timelines
  • Work required hours, meet standards for availability, and communicate with the manager when variations are needed

Skills and Qualifications
  • Solid understanding and experience in configuring the following technologies: IP Protocols (IPv4/IPv6, ICMP, UDP, TCP); Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF); Quality of Service; Ethernet (STP, RSTP, .1q VLANs, vPC, Port-Channel, EtherChannel); GRE and IPsec Tunnels; VPN technologies; End point security(802.1x, EAP-TLS); and IP filtering
  • Solid grasp of common network services including DHCP/DNS/IPAM/NTP, with the ability to setup, monitor, and troubleshoot on Infoblox appliances
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience with configuring and troubleshooting Routers, Switches, Wireless Controllers, Access points, Firewalls, VPNs and Monitoring tools
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience working with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Aruba vendor platforms
  • Experience in configuring, maintaining, testing and installing OS image upgrades on network devices
  • Experience in communicating to ISPs, Datacenters, Circuit Vendors, Hardware device vendors and should be able to clearly communicate the issues and bring them to resolution
  • Experience with Wireless technologies for Corp Wifi, Firewall policies and the ability to deploy and configure them
  • Able to analyze problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and system recovery
  • Respond to automated monitors and alerts to troubleshoot issues networks
  • Traffic flow analysis using Netflow etc.
  • Troubleshooting of all Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues
  • Configuration & verification of the TACACS access on the Network Devices
  • Troubleshoot production networks in real time while maintaining high system availability
  • Experience with change management processes and implementation
  • Triage tickets related to data centers, Internet applications, and worldwide office connectivity across switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN
  • Basic Linux/UNIX skills are essential
  • Able to quickly Understand and grasp the network technologies and must be a clear communicator (written and verbal).
  • Must have problem or incident solving skills, logical thinker and should be self-motivated.
  • Interest in leading edge technologies. Keen to develop own skills and knowledge
  • Able to contribute ideas, share knowledge and help others develop

Other Skills
  • 1-2 years' experience gained in a live Network Operations environment.
  • Cisco CCNA, CCDA, Juniper, Aruba certifications or equivalent.
  • Continuously analyze current process, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement
  • Identify, prepares, and/or ensures completion of high quality, professional deliverables to include: KBA’s, user guides, technical documents, training documents, SOPs, and other documents which are important to the team and organization
  • Must be available to work weekends and after hours when needed and should be flexible with the shift schedule when needed for the team
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, Palo Alto is a Plus
  • Positive attitude, Work with team to ensure documentation and knowledge sharing is adequate
  • Must be able to report progress weekly
