Project Description:
  • The System Administrator manages the software releases, system upgrades, and development work for the ServiceNow platform.
  • They work in an agile team utilizing scrum methodology to deliver value to customers through the development and implementation of user stories. Performs routine and complex system maintenance tasks, including hardware and software monitoring, system recovery and performance tuning on the Service Management system. Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Helps Information Technology groups utilize information systems to improve their efficiency. Ensures computer equipment, hardware, and software are updated to meet departmental needs

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Integrate with the team development and testing processes
  • Prepare the request or record producer per the guidelines of the team
  • Copy formulas from a SharePoint form into ServiceNow’s NPP request form
  • Ensure user experience interface meets expectations in user acceptance testing
  • Participate as a subject matter expert over the ServiceNow platform in process development meetings (i.e. advise on SN capabilities)
  • Set up user notifications
  • Set up API calls and REST messages with other data sources, possibly including Planview
  • Copy the data of past project requests from SharePoint into ServiceNow
  • Set up flows
  • Build reports for both SN-licensed and non-licensed viewers

  • Required Skills:
    • Working development of the request management module
    • Working development of the project portfolio module (prefers expertise in the Service Now PPM)
    • Develop reports & dashboards
    • Build and manage API calls, REST messages
    • Familiarity with programming JavaScript
    • Creating and updating record producers

    Preferred skills:
    • Knowledge of ITIL service management processes
    • Ability to function in a team using the Agile methodology
    • Basic understanding of SharePoint to copy group lists and formulas from it
    • Planview API integration
