Escape the city for the summer and discover Great Basin National Park! Join our amazing team at Kerouac's Restaurant and Bar, located 3.5 hours southwest of Salt Lake City, near the Utah/Nevada border. We are looking for a line cook to start immediately and work until the end of our season (October 23). We offer base pay plus tips, housing, shift meals, a staff retreat, and more.
We pride ourselves on making everything from scratch: long fermentation pizza dough, brioche burger buns, pastries, etc. We carefully source our ingredients, use organic and local whenever possible, and care deeply about the customer experience. Many of our guests drive from the Salt Lake area just to eat here and enjoy our hospitality.
Must have strong knife skills, a minimum of 2 years line cooking experience, and a team-player attitude.
Daily responsibilities include prep work, preparing our staff meal, managing all line cooking duties during a busy dinner service, and kitchen breakdown at the end of the night. The focus of the line is burgers and hand-cut fries. We are not a fine dining restaurant, but we do try to bring the same level of care to our casual menu that one would expect at a higher end establishment. Work week is 6-days per week and there are few expenses, so it's a great chance to work with a dynamic crew and save money along the way!
