This position manages travel and athlete benefits coordination for the Long and Short Track National Training Program and other elite athletes, as well as international travel considerations for the World Cup teams. The position interacts closely with other USS staff and departments in serving the membership of USS and meeting organizational goals. Main tasks will be facilitating team travel, coordinating the high performance planning process and coordinating other various athletic policies and procedures, in addition to tracking athletic budgets, forecasting, and reporting.
The position is a full-time position which works a typical Monday through Friday schedule in the environment of the USS National Office located at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns, Utah. Occasional travel and occasional weekend work maybe required pending such events as Team Selection events and Annual Board meetings.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist Program Directors with Budget projections for individual competition travel and camps.
Coordinate athletic travel including international/domestic competitions, national team camps and High Performance events (flights, hotels, transportation, travel visas, travel insurance and team travel communications)
Work with program staff to provide the most cost efficient but preferred options for team airline travel, layover timeframes and locations, arrival/departure ground transportation, and hotel arrangements within budget
Track and forecast cash flow in spending activities with regards to program travel throughout the season and provide and circulate regular updates to the Program Directors and Director of Finance
Create and present a strategic initiative for continued education, career development, and retirement packages for athletes, including a plan for full implementation this quad
Assist in organizing and formatting large volume documents (i.e. USS High Performance Plan) for High Performance Team and National Office
Draft letters, documents, and forms for high performance athlete communications (ex. Direct Athlete Support and Elite Athlete Heath Insurance notifications, World Cup team letters of intent and travel forms, and school dismissals)
Support submission requirements of USOC and other partner forms such as Direct Athlete Support (DAS) funding, EAHI, International travel forms and tuition forms
Coordinate team processing following qualification events and manage collection and tracking of required athlete documents and forms for all World Cup and World Team participants
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of current and retired skin suits and assist HP department staff in distribution of skin suits
Create and maintain organized shared folders for the athletic department
Replace and upload high performance content and documents on Team USA website
Work with USS Marketing Department on order and distribution of team apparel
Be a point of contact with Friends and Family in the lead up and potentially through the 2022 Olympic Winter games.

Qualifications of ideal candidates:
BS/BA or equivalent work experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office required
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or similar) preferred.
Background in sports required with a preference for Speed Skating knowledge
Proven competency in knowledge of International team travel and logistics including flights, hotel, transportation and travel documents preferred.
