Data and QA Engineer II - Cloud Analytics
Location: Salt Lake City, UtahA Data and QA Engineer II within the NICE CEA Cloud Analytics group is responsible for evaluating the overall quality of the linguistic software and machine learning models driving NICE's state-of-the-art natural language processing technology. He or she will perform manual and automated testing to ensure the highest level of quality and timely deliveries to the Cloud Analytics Platform.As a Linguistic QA Engineer II, a typical day might include the following:- Perform various levels of testing for linguistic software and machine learning models including functional, usability, insights generation and regression testing
- Designing, optimizing and executing test plans and test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications
- Maintain and expand automated testing framework and tests
- Write and execute manual test cases
- File detailed user stories and bugs
- Assist in the compilation and curation of linguistic corpora for development and testing
- Communicate QA results, risks and project status to management team as well as other stake-holders
- Following and executing on team-specified "done" criteria for testing features
- Interacting closely with product managers, computational linguists, machine learning engineers and software developers, offering suggestions and ideas for improving the quality of products
- Becoming a platform expert within the CXone Analytics application
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated experience in software development, testing or quality assurance
- Experience using large linguistic corpora and big data
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, Java, C#)
- Knowledge of Window/Linux OS and command-line tools
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with bug tracking systems such as TFS or Jira
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members and peers abroad
- Detail oriented and discerning thinking
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Experience with natural language understanding, computational linguistics experience or experience with machine learning tools and techniques
- Experience with contact centers, analytics, or business intelligence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (understanding of formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Experience with Docker, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud
- Experience writing SQL statements
- Fluency in a foreign language
