Sr. QA EngineerLocation: Salt Lake City, UTA Senior QA Engineer within the NICE CEA Cloud Analytics group is responsible for evaluating the overall quality of our cutting-edge analytics platform and application by developing test plans and scripts to validate product functionality and performance. As an integral contributor to our agile development teams, the Senior QA Engineer designs and executes both manual and automated test cases to ensure the highest level of quality and timely deliveries. A Senior QA Engineer will coach and/or mentor others in the team and be expected to provide leadership within the QA group. Ultimately, this engineer is experienced enough to drive defect prevention, not just defect discovery.

As a Senior QA Engineer a typical day might include the following:
  • Cultivating a passion for quality within the team and without
  • Developing and executing a complete test strategy for assigned products and features including verification of functional, performance, security and scalability requirements
  • Designing, optimizing and executing test plans and test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications
  • Creating automated tests as required
  • Communicating QA results, risks and project status to management team as well as other stake holders
  • Following and executing on team-specified "done" criteria for testing features
  • Continuously streamlining and improving the testing life cycle to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting are effective, agile, and coordinated
  • Interacting closely with product managers and developers, offering suggestions and ideas for improving the quality of products
  • Analyzing testing results to enhance future test plans and scenarios. (Including metrics and benchmarks to gauge improvement)
  • Actively investigating production defects and continuous improvement of regression tests
  • Becoming a subject matter expert within the CXone Analytics products and platform
  • Being a strong leader and mentoring others in the analytics organization

To land this gig you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of QA practices and policies
  • Demonstrated experience in software development, testing or quality assurance
  • Demonstrated experience with testing frameworks and testing tools
  • Demonstrated experience writing SQL statements
  • Ability to build automated tests, not only using record/playback functionality
  • Experience testing web and API services
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and self-manage projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members and peers abroad
  • Thorough understanding of the following types of testing: Functional, Usability, Load, Stress, Integration, Data validation, Performance, Automated testing and Regression

Bonus experience:
  • Experience with Analytics, Big Data or Business Intelligence
  • Experience with Docker, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud
  • Experience with front end languages and test frameworks such as Protractor or Playwright
  • Scripting experience (Python, Shell, Bash)
  • Experience programming in a cloud-native environment
  • Experience with source control systems, build tools and frameworks (git, gradle, cmake, jenkins)
  • Experience with NLP background, computational linguistics experience or experience with machine learning tools and techniques
