Job Description
Job Title: Structural Engineer Location: Sandy, UT Duration: Contract-to-direct hire, long-term Pay range: $40-$55/hr Job Responsibilities: We are looking for a growth minded candidate with experience in structural engineering design and detailing in post-tensioned concrete and/or wood design for wood structures. This person will perform calculations of gravity and lateral systems for concrete and/or wood structures and develop project specific, customized sections and details for the construction types. The candidate will also have the opportunity to perform steel and concrete design on heavy industrial projects and participate in training co-workers in post-tensioned concrete and/or wood design. Project execution for scope, schedule and budget. Participate in training other engineers in post-tensioned and wood design. Job Requirements: B.S. in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited college or university. M.S. degree with structural engineering emphasis preferred Highly preferred 3+ years of experience in the design of post-tensioned concrete structures Steel and wood structural experience also desirable Knowledge in the majority of the following:- Foundation design and detailing
- Concrete design and detailing of elevated post-tensioned two-way slabs
- Wood design and detailing of Type 3 and Type 5 construction
- Seismic design including wood structural panel and special reinforced concrete shear walls
- Knowledgeable in the following codes and standards IBC, ASCE/SEI 7, ACI and NDS
