Job Description
Homeschool teacher for sophomore high school student (male). We wish to provide a more supportive and customized educational structure for our son than what he is currently getting in school. He is a very smart 16 year old but struggles with timed test taking and some of the other "boxed in" elements of public high school. He's one of the most popular and likable kids in the whole school which works against him because friends and socializing is a constant temptation and distraction. In short he is an amazing young man who just isn't an ideal fit for classroom style education. We need someone who is experienced in teaching to different learning styles and is patient and thorough. Ideally some energy and personality will be great too anything to make learning a bit more fun and engaging than a typical high school classroom.
Responsibilities
Part time - exact requirement TBD based on how much time is necessary to teach a full course load in a private setting. Ideally you can also help us coordinate with the school system to make sure our son gets credit for the work and is able to graduate.
Qualifications
Teaching experience and a high school level, familiarity with all key subject areas (math, english, etc.) Experience with Washington County School District a bonus.
