LOCATION: St. Marys, KS

PAY RANGE: Environmental Compliance Coordinator: $55,200- $69,000

Environmental Compliance Coordinator: $67,500 - $84,400

Sr. Environmental Compliance Coordinator: $76,400 – $101,800Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Job may require additional hours with short notice including evenings and weekends.Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision of the Manager of Air Emissions Monitoring and working cooperatively with other environmental staff and energy center personnel, implements and maintains air, waste, and water related environmental programs that impact the Jeffrey Energy Center. Primary job responsibilities include maintaining the continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), implementation of air permit compliance, NPDES, FRP, RCRA and SPCC programs at each facility. The position also requires involvement in other major environmental programs such as water, solid waste, hazardous waste, PCBs. Influence on expenses and budget will be limited.Education and Experience Requirements:

The preferred candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Biology and experience in a technical area, preferably in an electrical generating power plant setting. A combination of high school diploma / technical degree and related experience will also be considered. Related experience should include instrument and control and/or electrical areas. An understanding of power plant systems is preferred. Experience overseeing and maintaining Environmental Compliance at electrical generating facilities and experience overseeing and/or performing emission stack testing is preferred.Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required

Candidate should have a working knowledge of electrical generation facilities. Ability to utilize schematics, tools, electrical testing equipment and technical manuals. Candidate must be able to troubleshoot a variety of systems and subsystems. Candidate must be comfortable with changing technology and have the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Candidate must be able to establish a good working relationship with energy center and other business unit personnel. Candidate must possess excellent scheduling skills and a progressive, dynamic attitude toward problem solving. Candidate must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

Successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.Working Conditions:

The work is performed inside and outside. Job requires a level a fitness that includes the ability to climb vertical ladders up to 100 ft, lift equipment up to 50 lbs and work at extreme heights. Candidate must be able to work in extreme weather conditions. Some overnight travel and evening and weekend work may be required.
