The Benefits Administrator plays a key role in ensuring a positive experience for our 300+ employees throughout the U.S. The Benefits Administrator manages all benefit programs and processes in alignment with NewsBank’s strategic objectives and total rewards goals. This role reports to the Sr. Vice President of HR and assists in delivering a portfolio of benefits that excite and retain our valued employees. Responsibilities

- Expert in administering all benefit programs including health, dental, disability, life, and retirement plans.

- First point-of-contact for employee benefits questions and issues for NewsBank employees.

- Plan and administer open enrollment to include employee communications, open enrollment meetings and webinars, and processing of enrollments through ADP.

- Monitor regulatory guidelines including but not limited to FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, DOL, IRS and - - Health Care Reform legislation to ensure policies and procedures are in compliance.

- Introduce new hires to all of the benefits NewsBank provides.

- Partner with insurance providers, brokers, and other benefits vendors to ensure best practices and return on investment.

- Assist in the evaluation of all benefit programs, including plan design, vendor relationships, and benefit-cost tracking to provide a competitive program of benefit options that attract and retain employees while remaining cost-effective for the organization.

- Process and audit monthly vendor bills for accuracy, retrieve and analyze information needed to process benefit invoices, submit invoices to accounting for payment and adjust employee deductions in payroll for processing.

- On-board new hires and process change requests.

- Process FMLA, STD, and LTD requests and Worker’s Compensation claims in compliance with statutory regulations.

- Update and maintain employee data for purposes of regulatory compliance and Advisory Board reporting.

- Other duties as assigned.

Must-haves for success:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

- Five (5) years of experience in the analysis, design, and administration of benefit programs.

- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of principles and practices of benefits and regulatory compliance issues on the Federal and State level.

- Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the employee benefits process.

- Proven analysis and critical thinking skills

- Facility with ADP or similar payroll software strongly preferred.

- Organized, self-starter able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
