About Springfield Supported Housing Program
Springfield Supported Housing Program(SSHP), is a private non-profit human service organization located in Springfield VT, which provides housing services to families and single adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. SSHP manages 3 transitional housing units where we provide home based services. We work with a diverse population that are facing life challenges in addition to homelessness: childhood trauma, generational poverty, substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence, and inadequate education are some of the issues facing our program participants.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director(AD) position at SSHP reports directly to the Executive Director(ED) while overseeing the Case Management staff and supervising the Americorps service member. Assistant Director participates in various community meetings as a representative of SSHP and has once weekly presence in one of our surrounding communities as a housing resource. Assistant Director ensures data integrity and is responsible for gathering and submitting data, with ED assistance. Assistant Director also manages and disperses HOP homeless prevention and rapid rehousing funds.
Responsibilities
Provide housing placement and ongoing support to individuals facing life challenges such as homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, etc.
Meet Weekly with Case Managers to discuss clients and provide guidance around struggling clients
Ensures data integrity and is responsible for gathering and submitting data to funders and community partners
Manages and disperses the Housing Opportunity Program(HOP) homeless prevention and rapid rehousing funds
Ensures all documentation complies with OEO language
Prepares and reports on case management to the Board of Directors
Have a physical presence in one of surrounding communities resource or community center
Emergency Contact for Springfield Emergency Shelter Units
Attends various community meetings as a representative of SSHP
Accountabilities
Monthly review of case management files and data tracking
Monthly reporting to board of directors
Quarterly reporting to funders and community partners
Files will be reviewed quarterly for completion and accuracy
Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
Strong knowledge of navigating the local recovery/treatment system
Computer knowledge and ability to maintain accurate data base
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a dependable vehicle.
Ability to set boundaries and provide self care on a regular basis
Qualifications
BA preferred with prior experience in human services.
3-5 years experience working in a human services field is desirable.
Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience
15 days vacation / 5 sick days yearly/ 12 Holidays yearly
