Assistant House Director

The Assistant House Director (AHD) assists with both administrative and residential life areas. The AHD coordinates volunteers and interacts with residents daily to support residential needs. The AHD also maintains digital and paper records and databases, donor and grantor correspondence, and performs basic office functions. Some non-traditional hours required.
Burlington Dismas House is a small residential community for people transitioning from incarceration to the community. We are seeking a full time Assistant House Director. We are looking for a dynamic, detail oriented individual who appreciates being a part of a committed team and making a difference in their community. The successful applicant will, under the supervision of the House Director, manage all office operations efficiently and interact with and support the residential community. This is a wonderful position for someone who enjoys running an office efficiently but also appreciates being involved with direct service. Position Summary
Maintains small non-profit office
Record keeping
Resident data base management
Weekly & monthly reports
Answers phone and directs inquiries
Recruit, train & supervise volunteers
Interaction and support of residential community
Attend 3 evening meals per week; occasional weekend and holiday duties
Attend house meeting
Purchase supplies/grocery shopping
The Office Manager will support House Director in all aspects of the residential program and must meet the following qualities and skills:
Excellent administrative & organizational skills
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, databases and social media applications
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work with a team and independently
Responsible and punctual
Strong leadership skills
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Mature and possess sound judgment
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, (email, calendar)
2 years administrative experience
Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and reliable car
Work experience with marginalized populations is an asset
