COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT LAB

The Partnerships Manger is a half-time salaried employee at $25,000/year, with flexible hours working primarily from home and travel throughout the state. Residence in central Vermont is preferred, but not required.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Partnerships Manager serves as a key leadership team member and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting the Community Engagement Lab.

This position is responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships with our programming partners, and the educators, teaching artists and community members served by our programs.

The Partnerships Manager will collaborate with Community Engagement Lab staff to design and implement a comprehensive plan for recruiting, developing and supporting both organizational and individual partnerships. S/he will have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to recruit, track, support and communicate with our partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively work with the executive director and communications manager to develop and implement a stewardship program aimed at cultivating and nurturing deep ties with organizations and individuals served by or collaborating with the Community Engagement Lab.

Work closely with programming partners, educators, school administrators and researchers on the implementation of a six-year longitudinal research project tracking the impact of 21st century skills, personalized learning, and community-based learning on students' postsecondary aspirations, continuation and persistence. The project will begin full implementation in three school districts in the 2019/20 school year.

Recruit and support teacher teams to participate in the Vermont Creative Schools Initiative Teacher Institute. The 2018/19 Institute is serving 50 teachers from 12 schools.

Recruit and support teaching artists to participate in the Teaching Artist Academy and the Vermont Teaching Artist Collective. The Academy served 23 teaching artists from across the state in 2018. The Collective is an emerging network to support and strengthen Vermont's teaching artist cohort.

Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the partnership program.

QUALIFICATIONS

High energy and passion for the Community Engagement Lab's mission.

Experience as a PreK-12 educator in Vermont with demonstrated success in managing and forging relationships over time with colleagues and community members.

A comprehensive understanding of Act 77: Flexible Pathways Initiative.

Experience with educational research methods desirable, but not required.

Experience as a practicing artist, teaching artist or arts educator is desirable, but not required.

Ability to influence and engage a wide range of individuals and build long-term relationships.

Exceptional strategy development, project management and communication skills.

Flexible and adaptable style.

The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.

Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and also a team player who will engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside of the Community Engagement Lab.

This position requires reliable transportation and will involve travel throughout Vermont at all times of the year. During several key programming times it will require time in the evenings and possibly on weekends.
