We are a Burlington, Vermont-based WordPress design and development agency specializing in digital marketing, brand building and UX strategy. Our clients come from a wide variety of industries, organizations, and backgrounds. Over the years, we've helped businesses improve customer service, market their products and attract customers.
About the Job:
We're currently looking to add a new WordPress Developer & Support position to our fun, energetic team. Help us build and maintain custom WordPress sites for awesome local and national brands!
This role is a development/support hybrid, so you'll be interacting with our clients on a regular basis as well as continuing to advance your development skills by building new websites using the latest web technology. We have retained hundreds of clients for over ten years by providing exceptional customer service.
What You'll Be Doing:
-Work with our in-house designer to build custom WordPress sites from high fidelity mockups
-Maintaining and supporting our growing list of clients via phone and helpdesk
-Inputting client-supplied content into sites as they are being developed
-Working with all members of the Scout Digital team to troubleshoot problems
-Keeping skill set up to date with current best design, code, and SEO best practices
You Are:
-A team player with a strong work ethic who can roll with the punches
-Able to educate people about how to update their site using WordPress
-Autonomous, able to adapt quickly and balance various responsibilities
-Passionate about development, and a WordPress lover!
Must Haves:
-Thorough knowledge of WordPress
-Proficiency in PHP, HTML 5, CSS JavaScript/jQuery
-Experience working with custom WordPress templates or child themes
-The ability to work well in a team environment and enjoy learning from those around you
-A knack for explaining complex issues to clients who may not be tech-savvy
-Excellent communication and writing skills
-Familiarity with web accessibility standards
Nice to Haves:
-Familiarity with SASS and Git
-Experience with Sketch and Avocode
-Proficiency with Google Analytics
-Experience with WooCommerce, Gravity Forms and Advanced Custom Fields
-Experience with ZenDesk
