Summary of Role\: GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab9, the world leader in RF semiconductor manufacturing in Essex Junction, VT, is seeking an experienced factory automation engineer. The individual selected for this position will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering organization and will Develop, Test, Deploy, and Support Equipment Integration hardware and software solutions for new and existing robotic automation applications in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role requires teamwork, problem solving, curiosity, innovation and leadership. You will understand how industrial automation systems perform, and scale and apply this knowledge to a unique semiconductor manufacturing environment. Exact responsibilities will vary depending on the skillset and background of the candidate whom we hire. There may be substantial opportunity to flex into additional strategic and technical work, pending mutual interest and fit. Essential Responsibilities include\:
- Envision and execute factory automation strategy
- Develop, Test, Deploy first of a kind automation technology
- Support Equipment Integration hardware and software solutions for new and existing factory automation
- Lead hands on, tactical troubleshooting efforts to resolve long term performance issues
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
- BS in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 3-5 years of Engineering experience with prior success in fast-paced environments demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills
- Experience leading teams through commissioning and configuration of robotic automation solutions
- Must be mechanically inclined and a hands-on team member; must be able to deconstruct and understand complex systems
- Experience with programming and maintaining PLCs
- Experience reading and debugging with electrical schematics
- Ability to debug industrial control systems
- Ability to manage onsite relationships with internal and external teams during deployment
- Ability to understand and improve operational processes
- 5+ years of Engineering experience with prior success in fast-paced environments demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills
- Experience working in environments like manufacturing, warehouses, or construction sites
- Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings
- Comfort working as both part of a team and/or entirely as an independent performer
- Strong program management and communication skills; English both verbal and written
